During a 7th inning rain delay in Colorado, the grounds crew had trouble getting the tarp down on the field. A strong gust of wind caught the tarp and sent several of the grounds crew members flying into the air. One guy looked like he was on a slip and slide.
When the tarp doubled over and covered some of the workers, several Phillies players including Ryan Howard, Shane Victorino, Michael Bourn, and even the starting pitcher Adam Eaton came out to help stabilize the tarp. Home plate umpire Bill Welke and crew chief John Hirschbeck were out there holding down the tarp as well.
The only Rockies player helping was LaTroy Hawkins.
I just made a post on another blog about Ryan Howard being a class act. That goes for the entire Phillies team as well.
Shame on you Rockies! You guys suck!
