I never paid off the loan for my car

No not the actual car note, that's been paid off for several years. I'm talking about the loan that I took last year to pay for the engine work that I had to have done on my car.

Honestly I thought I would have come up with at least half of the money that I owe but I haven't. I did take a secured loan backed by a certificate of deposit so my interest is only a few bucks a month. On the downside when the cd matures, I'll have to let the money sit in my checking account and then use that to pay the loan off.

Great, now I have to figure out where to come up with the money to get the cd back where it should be. Sigh. It's always something.

I'm still trying to come up with car money

I just don't have the amount of money that I had to spend to get my car worked on. I was very surprised at how much it ended up costing. I was not expecting to have to get major work done so I had very little saved up.

I ended up taking a credit union loan against a certificate of deposit that I have. I would love to pay as much down as possible before the loan comes due so I don't have to use the certificate. It doesn't look good though so I will have to use the certificate money. I don't want to use more than 1/2 even though I think I will.

So far I'm on track to have $200 paid off but to use half I would need another $450 by April 1st. That doesn't include the fact that I'm trying to pay off credit card debt too.

Sigh debt sucks!

My car is a mess

I finally got around to getting my car inspected and the bill was out of this world. It was over $1,600 but since I paid in cash, it was $1,560 which is ridiculous. I needed a lot of motor work done and the parts were almost as expensive as the labor. Usually the parts are dirt cheap but labor is a lot so I was surprised.

The worse part is that it was almost 3 times what I had actually put away for a car expense so I had to dip way into savings to pay the bill. I think I'm most frustrated because it's a small economy car and I only drove 6K miles last year. Yes, 6 thousand! The only reason I needed an emissions test was because I was exempt the year before and you can't go two years in a row without the test.

I love having my car but some days I really wonder if it's all worth it.

Please don't let my car cost too much

My car is way past due for inspection. It was supposed to get done in July and here we are in October and it's still not done. I was trying to push it back so it would coincide with my registration but I thought it would take me another year or two to get them synced.

I was going to go this week but then I decided that I didn't know how much it would cost so I decided to push it back until next week. That way I can take it just before I get paid and I know that I'll have enough to cover the cost.

I guess I procrastinate so much because I barely drive the car. Oh well, it needs to be done so I'll get on it.

That crazy woman almost hit my car

What is with people driving and texting? Everywhere you look there are ads saying how dangerous it is. Not to mention that it's illegal in a lot of places. That doesn't stop people though. I thought I would need a lawyer since she almost side swiped me. Of course that caused me to swerve which almost led to me hitting someone else.

Luckily it wasn't icy that day or I would have been in trouble. I would have hired someone similar to a Austin Personal Injury Attorney here locally. You can best believe I would have had a personal injury lawyer on my side if I had gotten hurt. Especially since they almost always have a free initial consultation. Sometimes you need someone who will vigorously defend you against people that can't follow the law.

If someone side swipes you or causes an injury, you may need a personal injury attorney. If you are in the Austin area you should look at the attorney's of:
O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949

It doesn't matter if you're in Austin, North Richland Hills, Hood County or anywhere in between, and they'll meet with you at a convenient time and place. Get the legal representation that you need for experienced attorney's.

I wonder what my inspection holds

I have to take my car in to be inspected soon. The inspection is already almost a month overdue and I can't push it back any longer. I'm almost afraid of what they're going to tell me that I need. I'm taking the car to a large auto parts place. That way no matter what I need, they should have it in stock. Even if it's yamaha motorcycle parts, headlights or brakes. I think I need front brakes on my car and I know that's going to set me back a pretty penny.

That's why I always shop at super centers. One stop shopping works for me.

30 days before I have to get my car repaired

I'm not looking forward to this at all. As usual I've waited until the last minute and now it's something that has to be done. I hate paying for car repairs but I have to. I'll call around and look for a good auto body shop to take care of my car. I already see that I can get a online estimate. I'm sure that number will be off the charts. If they take appointments over the internet, all the better.

I want this process to be as painless as possible.

Looking for the best deal on car repairs

And yes I know the cheapest deal isn't always the best deal to take. I want to make sure a shop has a reputation for doing quality work before I let them work on my car. I don't have damages from a accident, so I don't need collision repair downey done. But I do need a paint job. Someone keyed my car like crazy and now I need the whole thing repainted. Which stinks because the total cost is coming out of my pocket.

Argh, sometimes I wonder if it's worth it to have a car.

It's inspection time

I can't believe I've already had my car for one year. Well 10 months to be exact. It's already time to have it inspected. I don't need to have auto body repair work done this time. The dents and scratches in the car will just have to stay there until I'm done with school.

Now if the car starts to rust where the scratches are, then I'll run out and have my auto fixed. But until then, the car is staying as-is.

My cousin is looking for a car

My cousin is coming from North Carolina for the family reunion that I was just talking about in my previous post. He wants to go find used cars Wilmington, NC to drive to New Jersey. The majority of our family lives in NJ. My cousin and his family lives in North Carolina. My aunt and uncle who invited us live in Florida. Basically everyone else lives in NJ within a 15 mile radius.

I know why my cousin wants a car. He wants to buy something that will impress everyone. He's always been ultra competitive with everyone else and has to show us up. I just got my car so I'm not even in competition with him. I know he'll find something nice though, he has pretty good taste. I don't want to drive his car though but I will make him take me for a ride.

Renting a car on vacation

John and I are planning a short vacation for this summer. Since my car is running horribly, we're planning on renting a car. We haven't decided exactly where we're going but it's nice to know that if we wanted to we could rent a car in israel. That goes for any other city or country that Avis services.

It's really easy to use their system to rent a car over the internet. That way we can get the best rate while using a reputable company. Travelling overseas can be stressful enough, anything to lessen that stress is a plus in my book. We're travelling over the summer holiday seasons so we're going to try to get a promotional rate to keep our costs down.

We don't know exactly where we're going right now. I guess we need to get ourselves in gear and start planning.

California Cruising

If you're driving in California, you better make sure you have insurance. You can get san bernardino car insurance, or insurance all over the state. Cost-U-Less started in Northern California in 1980 but they've expanded all across the state. You can find them in places like Whittier, Tarzana and even Long Beach.

You can be cool and cruise, but be sure to insure your car.

Leasing a car is always an option

I just got a new car. Well the car is not new it's just new to me. It's a 2005 so it's a late model car. I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy a car at all. One option I had that I didn't use was leasing a car. I know some people think leases are evil but they can be the best thing for you depending on your situation.

You can find anything on the internet so why not your car. That's what I did. I looked at the dealership that I knew I wanted to work with and watched until I saw the car that I eventually bought. You can search over the web and tell them exactly what you want. Whether you want to search by make and model or by what you want your payments to be, BuyYourCar will work with you.

They will present you with several leasing options. And believe me the more options the better. I had two financing options and one company was a lot cheaper than the one was. If I was looking for a new car to contract hire I would lease because you can use the car for the lease term then return it. No muss no fuss. I just decided that right now buying was a better option for me but who know, maybe I'll lease in the future.

Cars cost too much

My friends car needs to be fixed again. They have a Civic and now they need a Honda Radiator. I know they are good cars, but they are constantly fixing this car. They can get a lifetime warranty and it's unlimited. Most companies don't do that. They also have over 60,000 different radiators and condensers. They also use computers to help ensure that you get the right product for your car.

They need all the help they can get because they're spending a lot of money for their car. At least I know that if I need to get car parts, I can get them inexpensively and from a reputable company. I just hope I don't have as many problems with my car as they have with theirs.

Should I buy a car or truck?

My last car was a suv and I spent a lot of money on truck accessories. I always bought things like new carpet mats, and a new wheel cover. I had a plain one, but I replaced it with a Steelers logo cover. I never spent as much on my cars as I spent on my truck. I don't know if it's me or not, but I never really got into my cars and what they looked like. But my truck? I was always buying stuff for that.

Buying truck accessories can be expensive that's why I like to go on the internet and compare prices.

Looking to donate a car?

It can be a hassle to get rid of a car. You have want ads, low appraisals, phone calls all times of the day and night, or the worse - strangers visiting your home. You can eliminate all of that when you make Car Donations through a agency like Car Angel.

They even let you pick which program you would like to support with your donation. You can choose from single mothers, prison reform, homelessness, orphans, and adult or teen rehab. With so many worthwhile programs which would you pick. The choice for me would be easy. I would choose to help the orphaned children. Children with no family need some sense of stability to their lives so I would definitely support a charity that helps them.

If you donate your car they will pick it up, free nationwide. Whether it's running or not. And you can fill out all of the paperwork online. What makes it appealing to a lot of people is that your donation is tax deductible. You can get a deduction for a car, boat, rv, plane or trailer.

Any type of vehicle that you have that you would like to donate is eligible. If you have a vehicle that you're looking to get rid of, consider donating it first. Hey, it doesn't even have to be a running vehicle. Just fill out the online form and get the process started.
