Please don't let me get sick

I woke up this morning very stuffy and congested. It's been cool here and I've had my windows open. It's actually been quite chilly in my apartment in fact. Now I think I'm paying for it. I know it's nothing serious like Acute Sinusitis but you can never be too careful. Last year I thought I had a bad cold and I found out later that I had walking pneumonia. Not fun!

The worse part of being sick is that the doctors prescribe all of these different medications for each symptom. Most of them use epocrates.com to see what medicine cures what ailment. I also want them to make sure that the drugs they prescribe won't interact with each other. No nasty side effects for me thank you very much.

I know that doctors aren't perfect and they sometimes need help too. And I'm not so impatient that I can't wait a minute or two while they look something up. I want them to get it right the first time.

Now to find some tea or something until my appointment this afternoon.

This announcement was paid for by Epocrates.

People are already buying Christmas stuff?

I was talking to a coworker last week and she was complaining because Halloween stuff is already in the stores. I thought that was crazy until I heard that some stores already have their Christmas stuff coming in. I knew it would come in early but I figured it would be at the end of September, not in August.

I don't worry about what I'm going to buy people for Christmas. I just wait until places like blackfridayscans.com put up the sales flyers for Black Friday sales. Then I decide what to get people depending upon what's on sale. I don't play full price for anything if I don't have to and that includes Christmas presents.

That doesn't mean that I'm a cheap skate or that I buy people crappy gifts either. I get most of my family pretty nice gifts actually. I just don't pay a lot for them. There's a art and a science to getting deals and I'm all over it. I guess when you don't have a lot of money to spend you learn how to look for the best deals.

The site www.blackfridayscans.com puts the sales flyers up before they hit the newspapers. So you can see what's on sale and make a action plan as to what to get and from where. If you don't want to constantly check the site, you can sign up for their email alerts and they will let you know when the deals have been posted. That's a cool feature because who really has time to keep looking to see if things have been posted or not? I know I sure don't.

I know I'm not looking forward to buying presents this year. All of my cousins have grown up and I can't get away with kiddie toys and baby dolls anymore. But you can best believe I won't pay through the nose for the presents I do get.

Have you uploaded videos on Viddiction.com?

I had never even heard of viddiction until recently. I'm really excited about using the site though. It's a video upload site but better than the one you're thinking of. I went to the site and there were a ton of videos to watch. I never upload videos myself, I just watch what other people put up. Anyway the first video that caught my attention was the "fake lottery ticket". I didn't want to watch it because I thought it was mean. I'm a gambler and a lottery ticket buyer so this kind of joke would easily fool me. I eventually watched the video and it was funny.

The reason I say it's better than that other site is because of the incentives that they offer you. The best incentive is cash for videos that you upload. You upload your video and then get people to watch it. That's it. The more people that visit your video and rate it, the more points you earn. The person at the end of the month with the most points wins. Anywhere from $50-$500 per month. The best part about it is that you can upload as many videos as you want. And you can win multiple times. Imagine winning every month with different videos.

Go to the site and watch all the great videos. Then upload your own video and win cash!

Surfing the net, you can find people that are interested in pretty much anything. Math, science, video games...you name it, there's a group interested in it. If you're looking for a new network about paranormal sightings, you should really check out this site.

There's more than X-File conspiracy theorists here. There are people that make their living studying paranormal activities. You can meet new people while sharing your love of all things supernatural. Check it out and see for yourself. The worse thing that can happen is you make some new friends and find out that UFO's really exist. Or do they? Cue Twilight Zone music while you click on the link.

Need readers?

Who doesn't? Everybody needs readers. It's good to have people validate what you've written. They leave comments and write emails asking questions. It's always a good feeling to know that people are reading your stuff and interacting with you.

I found a new site where I can meet new people. We can chat, look at each others pictures, and join groups. You too can join any number of community sites. If meeting new people is not your thing, just think of the readers you can gain.

Should I get a new design for this blog?

One of the great things about blogging is that you can change your theme as often as you like. It's not hard to go in and change templates. In fact, you can do it with a click of the mouse. But what if you want a unique theme? If you want something to really make your site stand out from the rest, you need to look at website design companies for help. These companies specialize in making unique themes.

I remember when a fellow blogger was up in arms because someone was using a similar theme. It was really an identical theme. She was upset because it wasn't a common theme that you would see. If she had gotten a professional design, she wouldn't have had to worry about seeing her exact same theme.

Sometimes it's just better to have the professionals do the work for you.

Internet dust-ups

Have you ever gotten into the middle of a problem unintentionally? I have. It wasn't really bad but I still felt weird afterwards. Especially since Side B did a smear campaign against Side A. When everything went down Side B was wrong wrong wrong. But I found out that they are in the habit of trying to cover their own butts and making the other guy look bad.

If Side B would do what they were supposed to do, they wouldn't have to worry about their competition.

Putting the pressure on

My boyfriend and I haven't been dating very long but we've known each other and been friends for quite a while. We've talked about being together in the future and possibly getting married. One thing I'm looking into now is Wedding Planning. I know weddings can get expensive so I need to know what expect. I can go online and find local vendors, get free planning tools, an online registry and a lot more.

I already found some favors and decorations that I like, but I guess I need to slow down. We aren't even engaged yet! Notice that I said yet.

Finding a man where you can

Where did you find your partner? Did you find them in a bar, at the grocery store or in the free personals sites online? I have found a man at the grocery store before. So I know that's not a myth. That particular relationship didn't work out so take that advice for what it's worth.

I've been browsing around DateHookup.com to see who's out there. There are actually a lot of people from my area. I like the message board feature of the site. You can learn a lot about a person by what they post on forums. For instance, if a argument breaks out, can they walk away? Or do they hold a grudge against the person? You also get them in a group environment which is always very interesting.

So what about you? Would you find a mate online. Sometimes I don't think I can do much worse than I am right now.

Find a date online and get lucky?

That was seriously a article on the internet talking about this. It said that one-third of woman that meet their date online, have sex on the first date. One of the reasons is because they say they feel like they "know" their date because they take so much time to get to know them online.

What do you think? Would you try one of the online Dating Sites? I know several people who have successful relationships that started online. I know one person that had a really horrible one but I think it's really the luck of the draw. If you go to the link above, you can compare the many dating sites that are out there.

They compare things like whether you're looking for a serious relationship or just to date, does the site charge or not, does the site target a particular type of single - like Christian sites or minority sites. Or you can review a particular site. There are sites like Match.com and Lavalife.com and quite a few others. So if you're not sure what you're looking for, read the review of each site to determine if it's right for you.

Who knows maybe you can find true love. Or at least get lucky.

Would you send an anonymous email?

Have you ever wanted to say something but just didn't know how? Or are you scared about emailing someone something that you know will upset them? To combat that you can send an Anonymous Email. What could you possibly want to say anonymously? Well, you can report a crime. Think about it, most people don't report crimes to law enforcement officials because they're afraid of facing repercussions from the criminals. Enter the anonymous email. Nobody will know but you.

There are other great reasons for remaining anonymous like: reporting child abuse, reporting theft at work, or even sending a tip to the media. Sometimes there are things that need to be said and with the anonymous email, you can feel confident in saying them.

Have you tried Cellfish yet?

I wrote this post on my other blog about Cellfish and their service. On Cellfish, you can get Free Ringtones. Right now, there seems to be a lot of songs in Spanish available. But you can get Promiscuous or Party Like A Rockstar. I even think I saw a song by Ne-Yo on there.

Did I mention they're free? It's hard to find places where you can get free downloads. But you can at Cellfish. They do have some downloads that you have to pay for. But the majority of the site is free. They also have videos that you can download. Guys can check out the Victoria's Secret video from Christmas.

My favorite part of the site is the image download. I uploaded a picture that I found of the Phillies to my locker. Then I used that image and sent it to my phone as my wallpaper. If you like my image you can click on it and share it on your blog or download it to your phone. What's not to like about Ryan Howard in a suit? I mean really, that man is sexy! Ryan not your cup of tea? Then check out the other guys.

Now get on over to Cellfish and find the perfect download or picture for your phone. Ryan's plate music is a song by Mims (This is why I'm hot) so that's my ring tone to match my wallpaper. What can I say, I love me some Ryan Howard!

A new blog directory

I need to get my blog out in front of more eyeballs. The more visibility the better. I mean how can you get clicks if no one sees your blog? I've found a new blog directory to submit my blogs to.

There's a comprehensive list of blog categories to choose from, so your site should fit right it. There are feature listings or permanent listings available. There are also links to other web directories on the site as well.

Go check it out, and see if it's something you would be interested in. You know you want to get your blog out there.

I got you hypnotized

Have you ever wanted to learn hypnosis? I have. Not for evil purposes (although the thought had crossed my mind), but for personal reasons. People use hypnosis all of the time to help make positive changes in their life.

What types of positive changes? Well the biggest change people usually want to make is to stop smoking. Other changes could be to eat less, exercise more, or one that I need to stop procrastinating.

Real hypnosis like what you find at http://www.hypnosiscoach.com, will help you learn the real deal. Not that fake parlor craft that you see at side shows and carnivals. Hypnosis is real and powerful, it can change your life. All it takes is a willingness to learn and a open mind.

Do you answer poll questions?

Have you ever been to a website where it gives you a poll or survey question to answer? Do you answer them? I do, especially if they're sports or entertainment related.

Have you ever wondered where people get the survey questions from? Probably a site like Quibblo.com. You can go there and find fun online quizzes that you can answer or add the badge to your website or blog for your readers to answer.

If you don't like the questions or polls being offered, create your own. I'm creating one right now. Check back in a few minutes for it.

Hey that voice sounds familiar

Have you ever listened to the radio and heard a voice that sounded familiar? It probably is a person that you know that has gotten a job doing voice overs. Don't know exactly what voice actors do? They help pitch products, ideas, contests, and businesses.

This would be the ideal job for someone like me that loves to talk. Especially since I wouldn't have to actually talk to anyone, I could just yammer on to no one in particular. The 60 second pitch is now giving away prizes. I wonder if I could use this as a way to drive people to my website. I know it would be cool to be on the radio. As long as they don't ask me to sing. That would be horrible and get me a lifetime ban.

No wonder my site stats are down

I went to Google to sign my site up for site map and to get my site statistics. When I verified this site, it told me that they haven't crawled my site since mid June. Well, that's why my stats are down. My site isn't being crawled so they aren't counting hits against my site.

I've verified my site again, and I'm going to sign up for some more ping services. That way my stats will go back up and I'll make sure that my site is always crawled.
