I didn't watch the "big game"

Or the Super Blow-Out as I referred to it. First I just wasn't interested in either team. At all. So I knew I wasn't going to watch. Add to that the fact that I've been battling the flu, with the flu winning, and I just wanted to lay down. I did wake up about mid-way through the 3rd quarter and noticed the score. I laughed, turned over and went back to sleep.

Later on in the evening I went to YouTube and found the video of Bruno Mars' halftime performance. Wow! He did great. And when he brought the Red Hot Chili Peppers out?!?!?! I was in heaven. Too bad the game wasn't as good as the halftime show.

Congrats to Seattle though!

It's finally here

Wow Super Bowl weekend is finally here! I can't wait for the game on Sunday. Once I leave work today I'm going to get all of my running around done so I don't have anything left on Sunday. Today I'm going to the store right after work to get some hair care products. Then I'll wash clothes this afternoon and I'll iron at least enough clothes to get me through Wednesday of next week.

I'll also cook for today and tomorrow. It will be something easy like kielbasa and kraut and maybe some beans. I'm only making this because I still have kraut left over from New Year's that I want to use before it goes bad. I'll clean my house tomorrow and then I can kick back, relax and wait for Sunday.

Now I just have to decide who's house I'm going to watch the game at. Decisions, decisions.

What a horrible start to the season

I can't believe we're 1-2. I know it's early and we can turn it around and all that jazz. It's pretty bad when you lose to the Bengals though. I know the old adage about "any given Sunday" and "any team can win" but seriously they stink. They have no team continuity or chemistry and they still won.

We need to get it together and quick or this will be a long season.

Preseason football is so boring

I know it's to get the players back in playing shape. It's also a showcase for the rookies and guys that got traded to show the coaches what they can do. I think because I know these games don't count I find them boring. I'm trying to watch a game right now and I just can't get into it.

I do know that the regular season starts in 2 weeks and I can't wait.

Crazy day in sports

TO got dropped by the Cowboys and A-Rod is out indefinitely! I can't believe this. The TO thing is not that bad because it's a couple of months before football starts again. But A-Rod, man that's just bad.

I hope he's not out for a long time. With the AL East coming up in the past couple of years the Yankees can't afford to have him out for any significant amount of time.

I can't watch the Pro Bowl

I just can't. I tried to watch it yesterday and it was so boring that I turned it off. I think after all of the excitement of the Super Bowl, the Pro-Bowl might be a let down. Maybe that's why they want to move it to the week before the Super Bowl.

Considering the Super Bowl contenders won't play in the game, I think it will be even less interesting. Hey we can't get people to watch, so why not leave the best players totally off the field. Can you sense my sarcasm?

What a game!

I thought the game was excellent. I honestly didn't expect it to be as close as it was. I didn't expect a blowout but I didn't expect it to come down to the final 2 minutes either. I stayed up half the night watching all of the commentary on the game and player interviews. It was great. I was so tired today that I had to come home and take a nap. I stayed up half the night watching all of the commentary on the game and player interviews. It was great.

Now I have to wait for baseball season to start!

I can't wait for Sunday

Woohoo I can't wait to see the Steelers whoop up on the Cardinals. I know they're the NFC champs but I don't think they were the best team in the conference. It just goes to show that you only need to get hot at the right time. Unfortunately for them, they Steelers are even hotter!

Go Steelers!!!!!!!!!

Superbowl bound again

Wow what a great set of games today. I can't wait to read what the losing teams said. I know Ray Lewis is gonna go off and act a fool. I wish I could actually go to the Super Bowl game, especially since it's in Tampa. I know it's at least 70 degrees there where it's only 10 here.

Maybe next time.

I haven't been keeping up with football

I don't know what's wrong with me this season. I really haven't been watching football and I haven't been interested in it either. I am watching the last few minutes of 3 games right now. One game went off, the network switched to another game and the 3rd game is in overtime. Next the Steelers play in about 10 minutes.

I guess I'm getting into it now!

What a horrible game

I was watching the Steelers vs the Eagles and it seemed like everything kept going wrong. First of all, the Steelers couldn't get anything started. Mainly because Ben got sacked about 641 times during the game. Ok ok it was only 8 but still, you get the picture. I think his shoulder is probably hurting more than the team wants to admit.

I was so disappointed watching the game. I don't get crazy about a loss but when the team looks that bad, it's hard to look towards next week.

I'm not really into sports this year

I don't know why. I love baseball and football but I haven't really watched either one lately. I guess maybe it's because they Yankees aren't doing well and the Phillies are still fighting to get into the playoffs. I also don't get to worked up over pre-season football.

This week there's a Sunday night game. Maybe I'll get hyped up watching that. I sure hope so. I feel like a have a huge sports hangover!

Football Sunday

I'm rooting for the Chargers because I hate New England. I don't know how good of a chance the Chargers have but I'm rooting for them anyway. I'm also rooting for Green Bay. I really don't think the Giants have a chance against the Packers but you never know, there could be a upset in the making.

I can't believe I'm actually rooting for a NFC team.

If the Packers win - You win

Free furniture if the Packers win the Super Bowl. Two brothers in Wisconsin are life-long Packers fans. They also own a chain of furniture stores. If the Packers win Super Bowl XLII they will waive the bills for all purchases made between December 26th and January 1st. They purchased insurance to pay the bills if the team does win.

Now that's a reason to root for your team!

The Steelers looked horrible yesterday

I only watched a little bit of the game yesterday and they looked horrible at times. They have to play a whole lot better in the playoffs if they want to last beyond one game. And we have to win one game to shut the Browns fans up. Really though, who cares what they think. They had the opportunity to make the playoffs but lost to Cincinnati. So much for the "soldiers".

The Patriots did it

As much as I hate the Patriots you have to tip your hat to them. They went 16-0 in the regular season holding off the Giants to win 38-35. It was an exciting game. The Giants played them tough and almost pulled it out in the end. But as usual, the Pats came up big when it counted.

I'm still rooting against them though.

Steelers lose

Anthony Smith needs to keep his mouth shut. It's bad enough that we lost. But stupid Smith got burned for several plays. He's the one that opened his pie hole and "guaranteed" a victory against the Patriots. Tom Brady made him look like an idiot. The Pats are a good team and here you go running your mouth. What's worse than that? He didn't back it up with his play.

I bet he won't be talking before the next game.

Monday football hangover

The Steelers lost yesterday to the Jets 19-16 in overtime. To make matters worse the Browns beat the Ravens. The Steelers are 7-3 and the Browns are 6-4. We have a 1 game lead because of the tie-breaker (we beat them head-to-head twice).

People are calling the Browns the Cinderella team to make the playoffs. There is the distinct possibility that they could challenge for the division. But they're the Browns, I'm sure they'll screw it up somehow.

Ok I'm seriously hungry right now

I'm watching Sunday Night Football, the Patriots vs. the Bills. I don't care about the game at all. I just have it on for noise more than anything. Anyway, whatever city they go to, they show what food they're serving the announcers and/or crowd just before halftime. They're in Buffalo so of course the dish is buffalo wings.

Oh man they looked soooo good. They deep fry them then coat them with the buffalo sauce. Yummo! I am getting so hungry right now. I guess I'll have some tortilla chips since I don't have any buffalo wings.

Grieving Vikings player to get check

Todd Williamson of the Minnesota Vikings took off extra time to attend the funeral of his maternal grandmother. In doing so, he got docked his game check by head coach Brad Childress.

After meeting with veteran team members, coach Childress had a change of heart saying: "I think the important thing is everybody grieves differently," Childress said. "That's the thing that I learned, or we learned, in this. In the end, it's not important to be right, but to get it right."

Todd has said that he will donate the entire check to charity in honor of his grandmother. He also thanked everyone for their support during his trying time. I'm glad he was able to grieve and move on. I'm also glad the coach did the right thing.
