It's finally here

Wow Super Bowl weekend is finally here! I can't wait for the game on Sunday. Once I leave work today I'm going to get all of my running around done so I don't have anything left on Sunday. Today I'm going to the store right after work to get some hair care products. Then I'll wash clothes this afternoon and I'll iron at least enough clothes to get me through Wednesday of next week.

I'll also cook for today and tomorrow. It will be something easy like kielbasa and kraut and maybe some beans. I'm only making this because I still have kraut left over from New Year's that I want to use before it goes bad. I'll clean my house tomorrow and then I can kick back, relax and wait for Sunday.

Now I just have to decide who's house I'm going to watch the game at. Decisions, decisions.

What a game!

I thought the game was excellent. I honestly didn't expect it to be as close as it was. I didn't expect a blowout but I didn't expect it to come down to the final 2 minutes either. I stayed up half the night watching all of the commentary on the game and player interviews. It was great. I was so tired today that I had to come home and take a nap. I stayed up half the night watching all of the commentary on the game and player interviews. It was great.

Now I have to wait for baseball season to start!

I can't wait for Sunday

Woohoo I can't wait to see the Steelers whoop up on the Cardinals. I know they're the NFC champs but I don't think they were the best team in the conference. It just goes to show that you only need to get hot at the right time. Unfortunately for them, they Steelers are even hotter!

Go Steelers!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been keeping up with football

I don't know what's wrong with me this season. I really haven't been watching football and I haven't been interested in it either. I am watching the last few minutes of 3 games right now. One game went off, the network switched to another game and the 3rd game is in overtime. Next the Steelers play in about 10 minutes.

I guess I'm getting into it now!

What a horrible game

I was watching the Steelers vs the Eagles and it seemed like everything kept going wrong. First of all, the Steelers couldn't get anything started. Mainly because Ben got sacked about 641 times during the game. Ok ok it was only 8 but still, you get the picture. I think his shoulder is probably hurting more than the team wants to admit.

I was so disappointed watching the game. I don't get crazy about a loss but when the team looks that bad, it's hard to look towards next week.

The Steelers looked horrible yesterday

I only watched a little bit of the game yesterday and they looked horrible at times. They have to play a whole lot better in the playoffs if they want to last beyond one game. And we have to win one game to shut the Browns fans up. Really though, who cares what they think. They had the opportunity to make the playoffs but lost to Cincinnati. So much for the "soldiers".

Steelers lose

Anthony Smith needs to keep his mouth shut. It's bad enough that we lost. But stupid Smith got burned for several plays. He's the one that opened his pie hole and "guaranteed" a victory against the Patriots. Tom Brady made him look like an idiot. The Pats are a good team and here you go running your mouth. What's worse than that? He didn't back it up with his play.

I bet he won't be talking before the next game.

My friend John is funny

I'm watching the Steelers game and I just thought about something funny that John said. He's the one that's in Denver for a job interview and looking for an apartment. Anyway the Broncos played at Oakland today. He made the comment that he hadn't seen any die-hard Broncos fans. I said nobody was out because the team was away. Then he said "Yeah but, Steelers fans represent everyday. Even in the summer everybody is still rockin' their Steelers gear. The Steelers are like a religion here in Pittsburgh."

It's funny because it's true.

Monday football hangover

The Steelers lost yesterday to the Jets 19-16 in overtime. To make matters worse the Browns beat the Ravens. The Steelers are 7-3 and the Browns are 6-4. We have a 1 game lead because of the tie-breaker (we beat them head-to-head twice).

People are calling the Browns the Cinderella team to make the playoffs. There is the distinct possibility that they could challenge for the division. But they're the Browns, I'm sure they'll screw it up somehow.

Steelers on Monday Night Football

Oh man I wish I could have gone to this game. The Steelers honored their 75th all Steelers team. There were some great players there. People like Bradshaw, Stallworth, Swann, Harris, Bleier, Woodson and so many others. I was really surprised to see Greg Lloyd.

But the game? Holy heck, it's the start of the 4th quarter and the Steelers are crushing the Ravens 38-7. Ben got temporarily knocked out of the game. He's back up and throwing but he probably won't come back into the game.

And James Harrison!!!!!!!!! Deebo is killing it today. He already has 3.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and 9 tackles. And it's the start of the 4th quarter. I know he's gonna be the player of the game.

They're really showing the all time team something. You gotta impress the all time greats!

Inside the Steelers Huddle

This show is so funny. It's hosted by Tunch Ilkin, Hines Ward and Deshea Townsend. This week they had 3 special guests - Jeff Reed, Greg Warren, and Dan Sepulveda.

They always ask their guest if they like sprinkles or nuts. Poor Dan listened to Tunch and picked nuts. lolol. It's the first time in 6 years anyone ever said nuts. He spent the rest of the show trying to explain his decision.

The also talked about their new dress code for away games. They can't wear jeans. Khakis and button down shirts are fine.

At the end of the show they did karaoke. They sang "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy". That was hilarious.

I love the show. I think I've been listening to it since it's inception. It's on 102.5 WDVE at 7pm on Tuesdays. If you miss the show, you can go to the website and download the podcast. You won't be sorry!

The preseason is finally over!

Finally. 5 preseason games is ludicrous. The preseason seemed to last forever. The Steelers went 4-1. They won today 19-3. Now bring on the regular season and the Cleveland Browns on September 9!

I missed the entire 1st quarter

I thought the Steelers game came on at 9pm. Nope, it started at 8pm so I missed the entire 1st quarter. The score is Eagles 3 Steelers 0, so I haven't missed much in the way of offense so far.

Edited to add the Steelers won 27-13.

I go a little overboard with Steelers stuff

Are you a football fan? I am. I missed it during the spring and early summer and got into baseball. But now the preseason is here and I'm loving it.

I'm going nuts with Steelers stuff this year. I got a dogtag charm, 2 shirts and I'm looking to buy a beach towel. That doesn't include all of the other stuff that I already have. But the funniest thing I did was paint the garage. I got some garage floor paint and painted a big Steelers logo on the floor.

I live in a apartment but I have to rent a garage because I hate parking on the street. It's only a few extra dollars per month to house my car. I did ask my landlord before I did it and he told me it was cool as long as I paint it back when I move out. Cool.

That's one reason why I can't wait to buy a house. I plan on having one heck of a game room setup. Sports memorabilia, logos, bobble heads. Man, I plan on having the works. Most people are excited about owning the property. I'm more excited about the possibility of game rooms and swimming pools. Priorities, yanno.

Our coach is hot!

Ok I wasn't gonna say anything but uhhhh....Mike Tomlin is a hottie. So not only is he coaching the hottest team in the league, he's the hottest coach in the league!

Steeler haters fall back!

It's official - football season has started

I wrote a post on my other blog and in it I said that training camp had started and I wasn't excited yet. Well, that's all out the window.

Hell yeah I'm excited! If I wasn't, watching Big Ben connect with Cedric Wilson for 55 yards sure would have gotten the blood pumping.

I know it's preseason, but Here We Go Steelers Here We Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
