Happy Leap Year!

I don't update this blog like I should but I just had to write something today. Today is February 29th. Something that only happens once every 4 years. It's so odd to hear that people are born on this day, but you know it happens. The rapper Ja-Rule is celebrating his birthday today. My bosses son is also celebrating his birthday.

I hope everybody enjoys this special day!

Adding more widgets

I don't want my blogs to be over-widgetized. I have at least 4 on every blog. But at what point does it become too many? I want them all to be relevant and things that people would consider clicking on. I have some widgets that get no action that I'm thinking of taking down but otherwise I like all of my widgets.

What about you? Do you like having multiple widgets on your blog?

Cutting back on junk food

I really need to cut back. I usually try to watch my portion sizes. If I eat chips or candy, I try to stay within 1 portion. Today I ate 2 servings of chips and 2 servings of candy. That doesn't include the peppermint candies that I ate. The worse part is that I don't feel bad (sick) after eating all of that.

I'll pay for it later though. No wonder I'm having trouble getting the rest of this weight off.

These short weeks really get to you

I do love having a 3 day weekend because of holidays. Then we only work 4 days for the work week. So why does it seem like those 4 days drag like crazy? I was so tired yesterday that I was in bed and asleep in less than 15 minutes. I'm pretty ok today. The day seems to be going fast too.

I just hope the rest of the week goes fast.

Looking for furniture?

The holiday weekend is always a good time to go furniture shopping. Almost every major furniture store has sales on everything from a sofa and loveseat to living room furniture and more. I saw a leather sectional couch on the site for $2500. That's about the same price as you would find in the store. Plus they have sales on the furniture making it an even better bargain.

If you're moving to a new home, you need everything from a kitchen set to a bed and everything in between. You can search online and find everything that you could possibly want or need. And you can do it from the comfort of your own home. You can't get more convenient than that.

I love 3 day weekends

I love when we have 3 day weekends. I just get to relax on Monday and not have to worry about waking up early and going to work. It also means that we only have a 4 day work week. The week seems to drag and take long, but at least I know we only have to work 4 days instead of 5.

The only bad thing about this holiday is knowing that we don't get another day off until Memorial Day.

Some improvements for Blogger...BUT

I'm still having trouble with them. Sometimes this blog won't load. I have the same widgets on this blog as my other blog so it's not that. I don't know what it is. It's not even all the time. Some days the blog will load fine. Then I go back to visit my blog later that night and it gives me an error message and closes. That sucks because I know when it's happened to me from other blogs, I don't visit them anymore. I could be losing visitors over this!

The spell check on this blog doesn't work either. I get a internal message error every time I try to spell check. That's on both of my blogger blogs. I think that's more on Blogger's end than mine.

I wish Blogger would get it together.

California Cruising

If you're driving in California, you better make sure you have insurance. You can get san bernardino car insurance, or insurance all over the state. Cost-U-Less started in Northern California in 1980 but they've expanded all across the state. You can find them in places like Whittier, Tarzana and even Long Beach.

You can be cool and cruise, but be sure to insure your car.

I never did write my short story

I was writing a short story last summer. It turned into 3 or 4 different stories by the end of summer. I never did finish any one of the stories though. I was so busy with work and school that I just never had time to finish any of the stories. I probably won't get to any of them this year. I plan on taking 2 classes in the summer and 2 in the fall so I'll be pretty busy.

Maybe I'll finish them one day.

More blog problems

Now my blog won't load. It will load the first page then get an error and close itself. It's been doing it more and more recently. I don't even know what's causing it so there's no way for me to stop it. I'm also having trouble with spell-checker on both of my blogger blogs. I don't know if this is a blogger problem or not.

This is getting ridiculous.

Investing in precious metals

The economy is not doing good right now. That's one of the reasons for the new economic stimulus package. During uncertain times you need a safe place for your money. Getting locked out of your blog

Has that ever happened to you? Especially if you're on Blogger, Vox, or one of the other free blogging platforms. Last week someone I know was locked out of her blog because they thought it was a spam blog. How they confused her blog with spam I don't know. She posts several times per week and they're all personal posts. She doesn't do paid posts or even have ads on her blog.

Anyway it took them almost 5 days to unlock her blog. Meanwhile there are blogs out there that scrape other peoples content and are nothing but adsense blogs and they're fine. I dont' understand how they decide what's spam and what's not because they're getting it woefully wrong.

It did happen to me early in my blogging career. I only had around 10 posts because my blog was brand new. A day later I was unlocked and I didn't have to do anything. What did you do when it happened to you?

Should I get a new design for this blog?

One of the great things about blogging is that you can change your theme as often as you like. It's not hard to go in and change templates. In fact, you can do it with a click of the mouse. But what if you want a unique theme? If you want something to really make your site stand out from the rest, you need to look at website design companies for help. These companies specialize in making unique themes.

I remember when a fellow blogger was up in arms because someone was using a similar theme. It was really an identical theme. She was upset because it wasn't a common theme that you would see. If she had gotten a professional design, she wouldn't have had to worry about seeing her exact same theme.

Sometimes it's just better to have the professionals do the work for you.

The job market here sucks

I know we're heading into a recession and all, but c'mon. I've been looking in the paper and on the internet for jobs. There's hardly anything out there. Everything is either very entry level paying minimum wage or executive level jobs. There's nothing in between. It's been like this for a while. If you don't have a job in this market, you're pretty much screwed because there's nothing out there.

I'm glad I have a job and I'm not out there looking for anything.
