Dinner and a movie with Johnny Depp

Yeah I'm supposed to have dinner and a movie but not with Johnny Depp. But we will go see Johnny Depp in his new movie. I always loved Johnny Depp since I saw him in Edward Scissorhands. He was so vulnerable that he made me fall in love.

I've always liked his movies but Pirates of the Caribbean was one of my favorites. When he looked at Kira Knightley and shook the rum bottles while saying "Welcome to the Caribbean". Classic. I just loved that line. That movie was weird but I loved it. That's my favorite movie so far.

Now I'm excited about the new movie Sweeney Todd. I can learn more about the movie when I visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site. He's hooked up with Lance Burton who is directing him in yet another movie. These two work so well together so you just know the movie will be good.

Getting out he vows revenge and opens a deadly barber shop. Hey, guess who else is in the movie? Sasha Baron Cohen as a rival barber. That is too funny.

I can't wait to see it. It's the last time I'll get to hang out with my friend before he leaves town. So I get to hang with my favorite friend and see one of my favorite actors. Good times man.

Rob Zombie's Halloween

Now Halloween is scary enough. But a movie written and directed by Rob Zombie. That's scary stuff.

Halloween was probably the first scary movie I had ever seen. It's the only horror film that I could actually watch. I usually only watch comedies. One of my dates took me to the movies to see a Halloween film. He told me that we were going to see something else but when we got in the theater, it was Halloween the movie. I was kinda ticked off until I started actually getting into the film. I was glad he was there for me to grab and hide under. I spent most of the film under his jacket.

This is gonna be a departure from Halloween the movie from the past. In this movie, Rob Zombie will turn back time to look at the childhood of Michael Myers. I like this angle. It gives you a idea into why the person turned out as twisted and psycho as they did. I mean, think of all of the horror films that you have ever seen. Most of them focus on the adult life of the killer. But don't you ever wonder what happened to them as children to make them turn out that way? I don't think most killers just wake up one morning and turn into murdering fiends. There's usually something in their past that triggered the turn to evil.

I made my boyfriend sit with me while I watched the trailer on You Tube. I've included the trailer, check it out and let me know what you think. I think it's scary. If nothing else, this will make a great date movie. Just think, you won't need an excuse to get closer to your date.

Are you Superbad?

There are so many movies that are coming out this summer that look good. The best part is that there are movies in every genre coming out. I want to see action, drama but most of all comedies. I love to laugh and some of the movies look hilarious.

Remember the guys who brought you The 40 Year Old Virgin and Talledega Nights? Well they're back with the movie Superbad. Were as the last 2 movies were centered around adults, this is a teen movie. Oh believe me, they have their adult moments. The 2 main characters are about to graduate high school and go away to college. Before they go they want to have a party and score some alcohol so they can be cool.

First let me say, what teenager doesn't want to be cool? We all wonder what we can do to fit in or at least not make us look like a dork. I had major geek potential in high school. Luckily for me, I had just enough cool friends to keep me from being the ultra nerd. I think that's one of the reasons why I tend to be friends with everyone. I always hated to see kids getting picked on or made fun of.

I think deep down inside we all want to be one of the cool kids. That's the premise of Superbad. What lengths would you go to to be one of the cool kids? Stephen King is at it again

I remember one of the first Stephen King novels I ever read was Pet Sematary. That book scared me half to death. I couldn't believe what I was reading, but at the same time I wondered if it was possible. I also remember that the ending totally freaked me out.

I didn't read any more of his books until Misery. Another creepy type of tale that keeps you totally tuned in. I mean, who could put the book down once they start reading? I didn't even mention Carrie. I know plenty of girls looked towards the sky when they won prom queen. Who doesn't remember the whole bucket of blood falling from the ceiling. My friends and I still tell jokes about this movie.

Now we have the new 1408 Movie. This is one creepy looking movie.



John Cusack plays a best selling novelist who routinely discredits paranormal events. When he goes to spend some time at the Dolphin Hotel, the manager warns him about room 1408. He becomes the first person to stay in the room in years. Now he must go from sceptic to true believer and try to survive the night.

The 1408 Movie sounds like vintage Stephen King. This will make an excellent date movie. I have to have somebody to hide behind while watching the movie! Watch the trailer and tell me you don't get goosebumps.
